About This File
---------------
This is the readme file for ShadEd v0.9, released 18th Feb 2000

About ShadEd
------------
ShadEd is a program for creating and editing Quake3 Shaders. The program can import and export .shader files, as well as create Shaders from scratch. There is a Help File being done, in CHM format, most kindly done by David Biggs. It is not here at the moment,m but it will be soon.

General Use
-----------
I apologise to all the 2 mosue buttons users out there, but for this version, it is a 3 button mouse only program. Sorry lads.

Shader View Controls
--------------------
Pan the View: Alt + Middle Mouse
Zoom the View: Wheel mouse -or- Alt + Left + Middle Mouse
Select: Left Click -or Ctrl+Left Click

When stuff is selected, its attributes will come up on the left. For filenames and colours, double click on the name, and a Dialog will pop up.

Requirements
------------
This is a heavily based OpenGL based applcation.

What it doesn't do
------------------

- It doens't have a play button yet. Just drag the mouse around the time slider down the bottom.
- it doesn't display your shader on a 3D object. You will only get a preview in a square on the screen. This isn't always very useful, so this will be changing in the future.

- It doesn't import Quake3 models. This is reserved for my future Modelling program, Aztec

- It doesn't display all the shaders faithfully. Some nodes, such as the environment mapped nodes, or the turbulence nodes do not get displayed. If something isn't displaying correctly, don't get all annoyed, because it will be done at some stage. However, even if it doesn't display correctly, it should export in a .shader correctly. Other nodes that don't display are wave types of sawtooth, reverse sawtooth and triangle I think.

- It doesn't import all the nodes. When it doesn't import a node properly, a warning will be printed. Please check the console output each time you import a .shader for any that don't work. Please let me know which ones do not import correctly.
